01 Who we are
Meetmeter (meetmeter.io) is a personal project operated from Spain. It is a free, browser-based tool that calculates the real-time cost of meetings. There is no company, no legal entity, and no team behind it — just one person based in Spain, subject to Spanish and EU law.
For any privacy-related questions, you can reach us via the contact page.
02 What data we collect — and what we don’t
Meetmeter is designed to collect as little data as possible. Here is the full picture:
Everything you enter into the tool — hourly rates, participant counts, meeting history, session labels, budget settings — is stored exclusively in your browser’s
localStorage. None of it reaches our servers. We cannot see it, access it, or delete it. It exists only on your device.
When you visit meetmeter.io, standard web server logs may record your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. This data is anonymised and aggregated — we use it to understand traffic patterns, not to identify individuals. We may also use third-party analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) that collect similar data under their own privacy policies.
If you contact us via the contact page, we receive the information you choose to provide (typically a name and email address). We use this solely to respond to your message and do not add you to any mailing list or share it with third parties.
03 How we use the data we collect
We use the limited data we collect for three purposes only: to keep the website running and secure, to understand how people use the site at an aggregate level, and to respond to messages sent through the contact form.
We do not sell data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not build profiles of individual users. We do not share it with third parties except as described in section 05.
The legal basis for processing website analytics data is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The legal basis for processing contact form data is your consent when you choose to send a message (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). The calculator itself processes no personal data on our side.
04 Cookies
The Meetmeter calculator does not use cookies. Your tool data is stored in localStorage, which is different from cookies and is not transmitted to any server.
The Meetmeter website and blog may use cookies for analytics purposes — specifically to understand which pages are visited and how users navigate the site. These are analytics cookies, not advertising or tracking cookies.
You can disable or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block third-party cookies specifically, which will prevent analytics tools from setting them. Disabling cookies will not affect the calculator’s functionality in any way.
05 Third-party services
Meetmeter uses a small number of third-party services to operate. Each processes data under its own privacy policy:
The website is hosted on a third-party server. The hosting provider may process standard server log data (IP addresses, request timestamps) as part of normal operations. This data is not used for marketing or profiling.
We may use Google Analytics or a privacy-focused alternative (such as Plausible or Fathom) to understand site traffic. If Google Analytics is used, data is processed by Google under their Privacy Policy. We configure analytics to anonymise IP addresses and disable advertising features.
We do not use advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or any tool that builds cross-site behavioural profiles of users.
06 Your rights
If you are based in the EU or UK, you have the following rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR. If you are based elsewhere, similar rights may apply under your local law.
You can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you. In practice, the only personal data we may hold is what you sent via the contact form.
You can request that we delete any personal data we hold about you. For calculator data stored in your browser, you can delete it yourself at any time by clearing your browser’s localStorage — we have no copy of it to delete.
You can object to our processing of your data for analytics purposes at any time by disabling cookies in your browser. You can also contact us directly to request that we stop processing your data.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the contact page. We will respond within 30 days. If you believe we have not handled your data correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish data protection authority, the AEPD (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos).
07 International users
Meetmeter is operated from Spain and is available globally. If you are accessing the site from outside the EU, your data may be processed in Spain or in countries where our third-party service providers operate.
For users in the United States: Meetmeter does not sell personal data and does not share it with third parties for advertising purposes. If you are a California resident, these practices are consistent with the CCPA.
For users in other jurisdictions: we apply the GDPR as our baseline standard globally, which means you benefit from its protections regardless of where you are located.
08 Children
Meetmeter is a professional tool intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a minor has submitted personal data through the contact form, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
09 Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the «Last updated» date at the top of this page. We will not notify you individually of changes — please review this page periodically if you want to stay informed.
Continued use of Meetmeter after changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
10 Contact
For any privacy-related questions, requests to exercise your rights, or concerns about how we handle data, reach us via the contact page. Please include «Privacy» in your message so we can route it correctly. We aim to respond within 30 days.
If your concern is not resolved, you may contact the Spanish data protection authority: AEPD — aepd.es.
FAQ Common questions
Does Meetmeter track what I do in the calculator?
No. Everything you enter into the calculator — rates, participant counts, history — is stored only in your browser’s localStorage. It never reaches our servers. We have no visibility into how you use the tool.
Does Meetmeter use advertising cookies?
No. We do not use advertising networks, retargeting pixels, or any tracking technology that follows you across other websites. Any cookies used are for basic analytics only — understanding which pages are visited, nothing more.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. For calculator data, open your browser settings and clear the localStorage for meetmeter.io — that deletes everything instantly. For any contact form data you’ve sent us, contact us via the contact page and we’ll delete it within 30 days.
Is Meetmeter GDPR compliant?
Yes. The calculator collects no personal data on our side. Website analytics are anonymised. We apply GDPR as our global baseline, which means all users benefit from its protections regardless of where they are located.
Does Meetmeter sell my data?
No. We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. The only third parties that may process any data are our hosting provider and analytics tool, both operating under their own privacy policies.
What happens to the data I enter if I share a screen or export a CSV?
When you share your screen, what others see is your browser — we have no involvement in that. When you export a CSV, the file is generated locally in your browser and downloaded directly to your device. No data passes through our servers at any point.
